Criminal Defense Attorney

Robert Connor brings nearly two decades of legal experience to Burns Smith Law. A native of Atlanta, he graduated from Pope High School in Cobb County in 1999 before earning his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Georgia in 2003. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from John Marshall Law School in Atlanta in 2007.

Robert began his career as a court-appointed attorney in Cobb County’s State, Superior, and Juvenile Courts, gaining extensive experience across a wide range of legal matters. While building his private criminal defense practice, he continued to serve the community through contracted work with the Cobb, Marietta, and Austell court systems.

In 2022, Robert joined Burns Smith Law, where he focuses on delivering skilled, client-centered criminal defense. 

Robert has a proven track record of successfully defending clients against a wide range of criminal charges, ranging from misdemeanors to serious felonies.  He leads the DUI defense team at Burns Smith Law, relying on his extensive trial experience and technical expertise in the field.  Robert is a member of the National College for DUI Defense.

Since 2008, Robert and his family have called Cherokee County home. They are actively involved in their church, community, and charitable organizations.
